New regional department of the AEER was established in Naberezhnye Chelny.

The Department is headed by Dr. of Tech. Scs., Prof. Vladimir Georgievich Shibakov, Rector of Kama State Academy of Engineering and Economics (INEKA).

INEKA is the largest university of Zakamskaya region of the Republic of Tatarstan; it was established in 1980 (Kama State Polytechnic Institute) for the training of highly qualified engineers for the automobile giant KamAZ. At present, INEKA is the main educational-scientific and methodical center in the east of Tatarstan, one of the most industrialized regions of the Russian Federation with the agglomeration of such cities as Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Yelabuga, Mendeleevsk, Almetyevsk, Bugulma.

The general objective of the Academy is the innovative development as a regional center of education, science and culture. One of the main tasks is to prepare for the region of the competitive engineers of European and global level through integration into international educational and scientific space.
