Goals and objectives of the Russian Association for Engineering Education

1. ASSISTANCE TO IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF ENGINEERING EDUCATION

1.1. Provision of favourable environment for advanced training of engineers to faciliate stability in economic development and practical implementation

1.2. Accumulation of the engineering potential of the Russian Federation capable of overcoming the social and economic crisis of the country

1.3. Revival and development of Russain Engineering schools along with effective self-fulfillment of their potential for working out strategies aimed at the stable development of the country

1.4. Taking effective measures to unite the efforts of the state, educational institutions, associations, industrial enterprises and public organizations for priority development of engineering education on the basis of up-to-date pedagogics, advanced educational technologies and combination of the best Russian traditions of engineers' training and world experience.

2. ESTABLISHMENT OF THE MOST FAVOURABLE CONDITIONS FOR EFFECTIVE REALIZATION OF CREATIVE POTENTIAL OF THE ASSOCIATION MEMBERS TO IMPROVE ENGINNERING EDUCATION AND TO FACILITATE TECHNOLOGICAL PROGRESS

2.1. Improvement of the engineering education content, making it more fundamental, humanitarian and professional; formation of high-level information culture in the context of the engineering education system; orientation of the language training towards practical fluency in a foreign language as means of intercultural communication, and, finally, growing academic mobility of the students as a factor of engineering education improvement.

2.2. Assistance to engineering educational institutions evolution and establishment of the upgraded material and technical basis of contemporary engineering education.

2.3. Improvement of the retraining and advanced training systems for faculties of the engineering universities and Russian corps of engineers as a whole.

2.4. Arrangement and coordination of the Association members activity aimed at the setting up practical work both in leading Russian and foreign manufacturing and scientific organizations, creation and management of databases containing the information on the sites of practical training.

2.5. Establishment of vocational associations of deans, heads of the departments, and vice-rectors of engineering universities.

2.6. Conducting scientific, methodical and practical forums, symposia, conferences, exhibitions, discussions, and academic readings on the issues of engineering education.

2.7. Examination of problems facing vocational education, assistance to new educational bodies establishment ( distance learning,"virtual university", continuous education etc.).

3. Protection of interests and rights of the Association members at the governmental bodies, local governments, and public organizations.

3.1. Establishment of the system designed to keep the proper level of engineering education sufficient to meet the needs of the society and to promote the prestige of engineering profession

3.2. Promotion of new educational technologies of engineers' training, training of leading experts in engineering education in different countries, retention and development of the best educational traditions of the Russian engineering school.

3.3. Certification of the Russian engineering corps.

3.4. Involvement in independent assessment of educational projects and national educational system reforms.

3.5. Submitting petitions to respective bodies applying for national awards, titles, and bonuses for outstanding scientists and specialists in the field of engineering education, and also to individual engineers of Russia, and their works.

3.6. Setting up international, national and local contests of research works, engineering projects, text books and resource materials on behalf of the Association.

4. Making business contacts, developing scientific cooperation and collaboration in the field of modern technologies and engineering, education, economy, finance, business enterprising and social maintenance with all interested legal entities and natural persons.

4.1. Independent public and scientific assessment of both national and individual programs, projects, inventions and discoveries.

4.2. Establishment and enhancement of contacts and cooperation with domestic unions, funds, educational institutions, as well as exchange of teachers, probationers, post-graduate students, and students accompanied by the exchange of experience designed to promote engineering education and engineering activity.

4.3. Monitoring and analysis of international, interregional, Russian and regional market of intellectual labor and intellectual product.

4.4. Organization and holding purely scientific, scientific and methodological, scientific and practically oriented conferences, symposia, seminars, creative discussions, academic readings on the issues of engineering education.

4.5. Charity in the sphere of education.

5. Advancement of international cooperation and contacts in the sphere of engineering education, assistance to the integration of Russian scientists, engineering Universities Faculty, and engineers into the world scientific and academic community.

5.1. Establishment and advancement of cooperation and contacts with unions, funds and foreign educational institutions, mutual exchange of teachers, probationers, students, and post-graduate students, training of international students and post-graduate students in Russia, exchange of ideas and experience accumulated in the field of engineering activity advancement and higher education development, resolution of problems of "switched" and "route" education

5.2. Expanding export of educational services in the field of engineering (the English language version)

5.3. Involvement in international projects and programs and international activity of the associated organizations.

5.4. Organization and co-ordination of the promotion of high technologies collected by Russian engineering universities to the world market.
